    ISD #2687 has the following position available:1.0 FTE Middle School Special Education Teaching Position available in ISD #2687 for the 2026-2027 school year.  This teaching position will be at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Middle School in Howard Lake, MN. EBD or  ABS preferred, other Special Education Licensure considered.

    Applicants should possess good instructional skills and an awareness of current issues and trends; willingness and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team (attitude, communication, and conflict resolution skills), ability to communicate and consult with others; knowledge of special education laws and rules; understand due process procedures; documentation and recordkeeping skills; assessment skills and knowledge of academic and behavior interventions.

    Requirements/Qualifications: MN Licensure in EBD or ABS preferred, other Special Education Licensure considered. 

    Salary and Benefits:  Salaries/Benefits are dependent upon qualifications and experience as per the EDMN-HLWW Master Agreement.

    Middle School

    HLWW Middle School opened its new facility in 2015.  Serving grades five through eight, our Middle School staff establishes a sound foundation of core subjects, with an emphasis on incorporating a well-balanced approach to literacy.  Students have the opportunity to explore many other subject areas including technology, music (band for all grades), intro to Ag, physical education/health, and art.

    We offer many different activities and sports for students to participate in and supplement all those experiences with the support of a quality advisory program and support services for all our students' needs. 

    Our Middle School facility is up to date with technologies and furnishings.  Our staff is high energy and values the importance of connecting with children so that they feel important, can achieve all they dream, and know that we care about them.
