Special Education Teacher: Network Program
Public Day program located at Attleboro Hiigh School (grades 8-12)
Start date: 8/25/2026 (Orientation days prior)
The Network Program is a grade 8-12 Public Day Program. The program is designed for students with academic/social/emotional/behavioral challenges which have hindered their success in a public school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree preferred
Massachusetts Licensure as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (5-12)
Massachusetts Licensure in Mathematics (5-12) preferred
Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the Superintendent deems appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL/PURPOSE:
To promote and develop successful learning for students within the program, manage an assigned caseload, maintain regular communication with students, their parents, and appropriate staff members and develop, revise, and implement IEPs as required by law and regulation. The Teacher in the Spark Program effectively supports the education of students who exhibit social communicaton, academic, and/or social emotional needs that impact their school experiences.

Director of Network and/or Director of Special Education
Essential Responsibilities
o Develops and administers curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
o Utilizes ABA principles within whole class, small group, and 1:1 instruction.
o Collaborates with general education and related service staff to ensure implementation of students' IEPs and meeting student needs.
o Promotes a positive classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
o Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
o Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
o Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
o Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
o Coordinates with other middle and/or high professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
o Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
o Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.
EXPERIENCE:
Safety care or CPI trained preferred
1-2 years as a special educator
Training or work experience in crisis management, school refusal
ELL and SEL training preferred ie culturally responsive teaching
FY26 Salary range: $64,004 - $108,744
FY 27 to be determined
