31A Paraprofessional - Baldwin Middle School

 Position is 28.75 hours per week, not eligible for health benefits 

 

Summary:  The 31A paraprofessional assists with at-risk students including providing support to teaching staff, reinforcing learning, assist behavioral needs and overall supporting those students 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with individual student assessment at teacher's request
  • Assist in small or large group student instruction under teacher direction
  • Tutor students at teacher's request
  • Work with assigned classroom teachers to set up a weekly schedule to assist students
  • Communicate weekly with assigned classroom teachers on lesson plans and student progress
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings during school hours  Before and after school staff meetings are optional
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: Not applicable

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Teacher certified preferred

 

Preferred:

  • Additional training and/or education

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret communication including emails, letters, spreadsheet and forms  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate basic mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine percentages and decimals; spatial aptitude to inspect length and weight of objects 

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
