Crossroads serves students following principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is an empirically based therapy that is used to analyze the relationship between a child and their environment to improve socially significant behavior. We stress positively reinforcing appropriate behaviors and replacing challenging behaviors with functional communication.
Crossroads Center for Children, located in the Schenectady/Rotterdam/Duanesburg, NY area, has both integrated pre-school and self-contained school-aged classrooms. We are looking for energetic, motivated, patient, and mission driven teachers that are fun loving, life-long learners, committed, and determined to help students achieve their best.

Our Philosophy: Crossroads Center for Children utilizes interventions from the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA), a branch of psychology and education with a foundation based on scientific analysis of human behavior and learning.

In this role you will work closely with and be supported by an Educational Supervisor and Board Certified Behavior Analyst to help students meet their academic, self-help, and behavioral goals. Each classroom consists of a special education teacher that supervises multiple teacher’s aids. Students are also supported by a Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Physical Therapist on an as needed individualized basis.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Plan and run group lessons that encompass student goals.
Create and update individualized skill acquisition binders.
Provide Discrete Trial sessions.
Supervise Teacher assistants within the classroom.
Scheduling staffing within your classroom.
Report writing.
Work with Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA) and other key. providers to adhere to students' Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
Attend IEP, Behavior, Team, and All School meetings.
Collect ABA data to track progress and modify necessary changes to meet student goals.

Licenses & Experience
Experience in Special Education: 1 year (Preferred)
Teaching Certification (Required for School-Aged)
