Position Overview

Windham Southwest Supervisory Union (WSWSU) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our Special Education team. The BCBA will provide district-wide behavioral support services, working proactively with students, staff, and families to reduce challenging behaviors and prevent escalation to higher levels of intervention or placement.

Qualifications

- Current BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Demonstrated experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Experience supervising and mentoring Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
- Strong collaborative and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Valid Vermont licensure or ability to obtain (if applicable to role)

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Planning

- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of student behaviors
- Develop individualized, data-driven Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Monitor and analyze behavioral data to assess intervention effectiveness and adjust plans as needed

Supervision & Mentorship

- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) working across the district
- Ensure staff are implementing behavior plans with fidelity
- Support staff skill development through ongoing coaching and feedback

Collaboration & Consultation

- Partner with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to implement behavior strategies with consistency
- Serve as a resource for staff seeking guidance on de-escalation techniques and proactive behavior support
- Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning as needed to support behavioral goals

Professional Development & District Support

- Design and deliver professional development sessions to build staff capacity in evidence-based behavior strategies
- Promote a district-wide, proactive approach to behavior support aimed at reducing the need for higher levels of intervention
- Contribute to a positive, consistent behavioral framework across WSWSU schools
