Ross Elementary School is seeking dedicated and qualified candidates to join our team as Special Education Teachers in the AIMS Program. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with disabilities, particularly those with needs related to the Autism spectrum.
Position Overview:
Teachers in the AIMS Program are responsible for designing and delivering individualized instruction that addresses the academic, behavioral, social, and life skills needs of each student. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong understanding of special education best practices and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement effective, individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and academic standards
Provide targeted instruction in behavioral, social, and life skills
Support the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disabilities
Lead and direct assigned paraprofessionals to ensure consistent program delivery
Maintain compliance with all aspects of IEP implementation and documentation
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student progress
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
Massachusetts teaching license in moderate or sever disabilities
Experience working with students with Autism and/or significant disabilities preferred
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to create and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all learners
