We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate paraprofessional to support students with developmental disabilities at Deer River High School. This position involves working closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and committed to fostering the academic and social growth of students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with developmental disabilities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students during instructional activities.
- Help students with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, meal times, and transitions between activities.
- Monitor and document students’ progress, behavior, and social interactions to provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Facilitate positive social interactions among students and promote a sense of community within the classroom.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Requirements
- AA/AS or higher or the equivalent college credits (64 semester hours). Passing score on ParaPro exam.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and administrators.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the needs of students with diverse abilities.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with school district policies and regulations.
