    Educational Assistant (Autism)

    The Special Education Assistant works under the direct supervision of a certified teacher to support students in our autism program.

     

    Responsibilities include:

    • adapting daily academic tasks under a teacher's supervision
    • implementing individualized education plans
    • managing classroom behavior
    • guiding social and communication skills
    • toileting as needed 

     

    Work Schedule:

    • 7 hours per day
    • 5 days per week
    • 185 days per year
    • 10 month position

     

    Requirement:

    • High School Diploma
    • 60 College credits preferred

     

    Effective:   2026-2027 School Year

     

    Salary: 

    • As per salary guide based on experience and earned degree level
    • Minimum $29,250- maximum $40,713

    In addition to the base salary, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package: 
    including medical/vision, prescription and dental insurance, and paid time off.   Will be entered into the appropriate NJ Pension Program.
