- High School Diploma
- Prefer, but do not require post-high school education
- Good people skills
- Well organized, strong work ethic, positive attitude
- Ability to work as a member of A team
- Some technology skills
- Ability to work well with students
Job Description:
- The Elementary paraprofessional will work in classrooms to assist the classroom teacher and special education student(s)
Performance Responsibilities:
- Review and understand needs of assigned student(s)
- Help maintain a positive classroom environment
- Assistance with personal care needs, including but not limited to personal hygiene and toileting
- Monitor students needs throughout the school day
- Assist students with lessons and assignments
- Monitor health needs if applicable
- Maintain confidentiality
- Daily record keeping of student's needs
- Collaboration with special education and general education teachers
- Assist teacher in daily classroom needs
- Serve as an active participant in student/team meetings
