Elementary Special Education Teacher (Anticipated)

- Maintain student confidentiality in thorough and secure record-keeping following FERPA, IDEA and HIPPA guidelines when needed
- Participate in all meetings as required by the school, district, or laws, to address student needs
- Ability to form and maintain working and professional relationships with district staff and parents
- Possesses the skill and willingness to ensure that students’ social and emotional needs are addressed
- Developing and implementing individualized programs of instruction to meet the needs of students
- Participating as an educational team member for the success of all students
- Uses technology to enhance lessons and stay current with changing trends
- Must demonstrate the ability to connect with all students and actively engage them in learning
- Communicates well with a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrate professional conduct and exhibit professional growth
- Performs other such duties as may reasonably be assigned
Preferred Skills/Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement, qualified to teach in Michigan
- Show passion about the teaching/learning process for every child
- Build relationships with students and adults in a team environment
- Provide customer service atmosphere for students and parents
- Engagement in the process of continual improvement
