Position: ESY Substitute Special Education Teacher 

Reports To: Director of Student Programs

Qualifications:  

1. Special Education Certification.
2. Meet all  certification requirements for Oklahoma, including teaching area endorsement.
3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goals: To provide Special Education Services for students who meet the criteria for Extended School Year.

Responsibilities:

1. Follows the procedures, practices and guidelines outlined by the school, district, State and Federal laws intended to keep students healthy and safe.
2. Provide services as outlined on the student’s Individualized Education Plan.
3. Prepares materials and equipment prior to the start of the class.
4. Plans consistently to address student diverse learning needs.
5. Plans with other members  of the team.
6. Establishes a classroom climate where students are engaged and expectations are clear.
7. Engages students in active learning and uses a variety of strategies to support learning.
8. Prepares Progress Report at the end of ESY and enters all information relative to the student on EdPlan.
9. Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Terms of Employment: June 1, 2026 - June 25, 2026 (as needed)
