Extended School Year Special Education Teacher
DEFINITION:
The Extended Year Program Special Education Teacher is an employee member of the school staff designated by the Superintendent of Schools. The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Student Services and Coordinators in all duties necessary for the proper and efficient operation of the Woburn Public Schools Extended School Year Program. Under the supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Special Education Teacher will provide instruction in the district extended school year program.

WORKING TIME:
The Extended School Year Special Educator Teacher will be required to work 16 extended school days, at the discretion of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, or Director of Student Services. The length of the workday will be 3.5 hours, including 3 hours of instructional time and 0.5 hours of paid preparation time per day. In addition to the daily preparation time, there will be 3 hours of prep before the program begins and 3 additional hours at the end of the program for a total of 6 additional hours of preparation time. The 2026 Extended School Year will run Monday through Thursday from July 6, 2026, through July 30, 2026. Attendance for all 16 days of the program is mandatory.
