Wrentham Public Schools is seeking a special education teacher to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students in grades K-3 who have been identified with developmental and social-communication disabilities, including Autism, for the Extended School Year Program.

As a member of the Specialized Learning Center Team, the special education teacher will provide specialized instruction to help students reduce challenging behaviors that prevent them from developing to their full potential, while systematically increasing appropriate self-regulation strategies and socially appropriate behaviors so they can access the general education environment in a partial inclusion model during the school year.

Specific responsibilities include:
*Conduct ongoing informal assessments and progress monitoring of students
*Review comprehensive evaluation reports and IEPs to determine programming
*Implementation of specially designed instruction that meets the individual needs of the students, and aligns with grade level standards
*Collaborate with Wrentham Summer Institute teachers to support students’ inclusion as needed
*Maintain consistent communication with students’ families
*Working collaboratively and effectively with other team members and paraprofessionals
*Maintain all responsibilities of a special education liaison
*Facilitate individual students’ academic, self-regulation, and social-behavioral programs based on their IEP goals
*Implement individual Behavior Intervention Plans; graph and analyze data collected to monitor student progress
*Consult regularly with related services: BCBA, SLP, OT, and PT, as individually determined, to ensure consistency of behavioral approaches across settings
*Supervise and provide ongoing training to ABA tutors and paraprofessionals
*Provide ongoing parent communication and consultation as needed
*Complete a typed progress report for each student at the end of the 5-week ESY program

A strong candidate will possess the following:
*MA License in Moderate or Severe Special Needs
*Training and experience in ABA methodology
*Strong history of effective collaboration and communication with colleagues and families
*Strong organizational, time management, and technology skills
*Experience conducting academic evaluations, data collection/analysis, developing comprehensive IEPs, and reporting on progress
*Willingness and physical ability to be trained and certified in CALM Crisis Prevention
*Excellent skills in instruction, time management, organization, and communication.
