Full Charge Bookkeeper / Paraprofessional

FMD is a mid-sized certified public accounting (CPA) firm located in Birmingham, MI. We are currently seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper/Paraprofessional to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of assisting our clients with a variety of bookkeeping tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using double entry bookkeeping methods.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
• Utilize accounting software to record transactions, generate reports, and analyze financial data.
• Ensure compliance with public accounting standards and internal policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

Experience

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, with a solid understanding of general ledger accounting.
• Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Knowledge of financial concepts relevant to bookkeeping and accounting practices.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accuracy in financial records.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience in working with automotive dealerships strongly preferred.
