High School Special Education Teacher

Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher supports the classroom teacher in providing instruction, behavior support, and daily care to students with disabilities in a self-contained and general education setting. This position assists with implementing IEP goals, supervising students, and ensuring a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support small-group and 1:1 instruction as directed by the teacher

• Assist with implementing IEP accommodations, behavior plans, and data collection

• Provide support with communication, social skills, and self-regulation

• Assist with personal care needs (toileting, feeding, hygiene) as required

• Prepare instructional materials and help maintain an organized classroom

• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and transportation

• Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies and procedures

Qualifications

• We need to add here our requirements for WorkKeys or the required college hours ... 

• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred

• Ability to follow instructional and behavior plans

• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
