Esten Early Childhood Center is seeking an experienced special education teacher to work with our academic interventionist, school psychologist, and kindergarten team to support students who may need additional support in kindergarten. If students are referred for special education testing, the person in this position will be responsible for completing the academic testing, writing the report, presenting the report to parents, and working with the TEAM throughout the eligibility process for special education services. If a student qualifies, it will be this person's responsibility to implement the IEP goals during the kindergarten year.
Knowledge of Special Education assessment/evaluation tools, able to administer, interpret, and write IEPs
Ability to collaborate and work with classroom teachers and other support personnel
Systematic Phonics Trained
Strong understanding of math content
Experience with reading interventions
MA Moderate Special Education License for kindergarten-age students
Experience working with students with special needs
Strong background in social/emotional and behavioral intervention will be a plus
Our district uses Heggarty Phonemic Awareness, Fundations Phonics, Bridges Math, and Second Step for our social-emotional curriculum. Play is the work of early childhood!
