Language Based Special Education Teacher

Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District seeks a qualified Language Based Special Education Teacher commencing at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. 

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will hold DESE licensure in Moderate Special Needs and ELA. This position requires academic, interpersonal and organizational skills. This candidate should be familiar with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, and should possess an ability to modify curriculum to meet the academic needs of students. The candidate will have participated in Orton Gillingham or Wilson Reading Training. This position requires an individual who can collaborate with staff and who is reflective of his/her teaching practice.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):                                                                                                

• Teach students in Language Based Program
• Modify curriculum/work closely with general education teachers within the classroom setting and during prep/planning times
• Provide Reading instruction rooted in the strategies of Wilson Reading or Orton Gillingham.
• Participate in the development of, and oversee implementation of IEP'S for students eligible for special education with a focus on language based instruction
• Providing support and direction for  Educational Assistants as they implement curriculum
• Maintain standards of classroom management needed for students to achieve academic and social growth in the classroom
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress
• Administer standardized test in accordance with district and state testing programs
• Participate in curriculum development as required
• Any and all other duties assigned                                                               

Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12 by the Massachusetts Department of  Elementary & Secondary Education, to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement                                                                                   

Experience Preferred:

• 3+ years experience with High School students with language based disabilities
• Wilson and/or Orton Gillingham training
