THE ROLE

The Middle School Special Education Teacher leads supports for Special Education students to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. 


THE PERSON

As a Lead Special Education Elementary Teacher, you will:

  • Review weekly lesson plans and provide modifications, as necessary
  • Teach small groups in guided reading & math, using a research-based curriculum
  • Implement and adjust behavior interventions for scholars
  • Implement school-wide systems for academics and behavior
  • Implement processes to monitor progress of exceptional students
  • Compile data for meetings, updates, and annual reports
  • Support teachers to implement interventions
  • Meet with families to review progress on learning goals



THE MUST HAVES

Prior Experience

  • A certification in Special Education (required)
  • Experience managing a Special Education caseload.
  • The ability to teach core subjects (Math and Reading) to elementary scholars.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
