POSITION: LIFE SKILLS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – CONTRACTED
LOCATION: SPRINGTON LAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL
EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR
COMPENSATION: PER RTMEA CONTRACT
STARTING SALARY RANGE
$68,300 (Bachelor’s - Step 1) to $84,300 (Master’s - Step 6)
The Rose Tree Media School District seeks a compassionate, student-centered Middle School Life Skills Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in developing academic, social, and functional life skills that promote independence and meaningful participation in school and community life. This full-time, contracted position is available for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree
- Active and valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Special Education, PK-8
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Prior experience working in a Life Skills or Autistic Support program
- Experience with positive behavior support strategies
- Ability to adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and related services providers to support inclusion opportunities
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
