The Wrentham Public Schools is seeking an academic assistance paraprofessional to work with students in grades 3-4. This individual will work with individual students and small groups of students. The academic assistance paraprofessional will work within classrooms to support students who have been identified to need assistance in literacy through progress monitoring. Supervision will be provided by the building principal in collaboration with the reading specialist.
General Responsibilities:
-Review and be familiar with students’ individual social, emotional and/or academic needs
-Implement lessons individually or in small groups under the direction of supervising educator
-Follow through on teacher directives or feedback and seek advice and support as needed
-Adjust student support in the moment to promote student independence
-Implement school-wide behavioral expectations
-Model appropriate behavior and reinforce as needed
-Maintain confidentiality
-Collect academic and/or behavioral student data
-Supervise students during transitions and assigned time blocks
-Utilize computer technology for tasks, as required
-Other responsibilities, as assigned by the building principal and/or supervisor
