Job Description
As a teacher in the Mashpee Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students; align your teaching to the district and state standards; to regularly assess students for learning comprehension and modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of ALL students, especially students who are learning English, and to build positive and productive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. 

You will be expected to 

• Create and maintain a sub-separate classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the social and emotional development of students; 
• Assist in the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans; 
• Assess the academic and behavioral needs of students; 
• Collect data and assist with ongoing evaluation of behavior plans and interventions with recommendations for modifications; 
• Motivate students and manage behavior; 
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop an IEP through the Student Support Center (SSC) process for each student assigned. 
• Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students according to their IEP; 
• Work cooperatively with each student’s General Education teacher to determine appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.  
• Participate in SSC meetings on a regular basis; 
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by IEP; 
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs and capabilities of each student assigned. 
• Plan and supervise assignments for paraprofessional(s)
