This is a long term substitute position. Expected start date is March 19, 2026.
The special education teacher is responsible for the planning and delivery of specially designed instruction for all students on their caseload. This individual is also responsible for accommodations that enable students to access grade-level curriculum. Familiarity with standards-based education and mastery of technology skills are required. Self reflection skills, data analysis competencies, and the ability to effectively collaborate with others are essential. The successful candidate will have the ability to work well with students, parents, colleagues and community members.
In addition to instructional responsibilities, the special education teacher chairs annual review meetings, develops IEPs, and evaluates students to determine special education eligibility.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
A bachelor's degree and the appropriate Moderate Special Needs Massachusetts teaching license are required; a master's degree and/or certification in the use of a rules-based reading program is preferred.
