Join our team as a Lunch & Recess Paraprofessional and make a difference in students’ school day! You’ll actively engage with and supervise students during lunch and recess, helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
Work Days: Monday – Friday (on all student contact days)
Hours: 9:45 AM – 1:45 PM
Schedule: Part-time, 171 days over the school year, plus additional days as needed for training

Compensation: $18.00 to $22.05 per hour
*Bromley recognizes up to 11 years of relevant experience

High-Level Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Implements procedures for a safe, clean and efficient lunchroom. 
  • Assists with cleaning and maintaining the cafeteria during student lunch periods.
  • Supervises recess and ensures a safe and orderly environment for all students.
  • Effectively communicates with supervisors, colleagues and students.
  • Enforces safety and security standards.
  • Participates in required training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Desire to work and connect with students in a positive way and at their developmental level.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Creative analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage large groups of students.

Education and Experience Needed to be Successful

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience working with children in a K-8 school setting is preferred.
