The Villisca Community School District Board of Directors are seeking a Middle School Level Three Special Education Teacher.

Southwest Valley School District is home of the Timberwolves. The district is in its 13th year of whole grade sharing between the Corning Community School District and the Villisca Community School District.
Southwest Valley School buildings are located in the towns of Corning and Villisca, two of the most proud, progressive, and supportive communities in southwest Iowa. The students attend classes in well-maintained facilities, which undergo annual modernization while maintaining the classic, historical image of a small community school. The student population ranges from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, with early childhood education centers in each elementary building.
With a dedicated professional instructional staff that averages in excess of 13 years of teaching experience and a student-teacher ratio of 11:1, Southwest Valley Schools are committed to caring for its students in order to help them follow our mission statement which is: The Southwest Valley community will create an enthusiastic learning environment to promote responsible and empathetic contributors to society.
These two communities have a travel distance of 14 miles. Corning and Villisca are located just over a half-hour from three larger communities, and 90 minutes from three major metropolitan areas. Corning and Villisca serve Adams, Montgomery, Taylor, and Page Counties with all their amenities, including hospitals and clinics, a community pool and an aquatic center, wellness center, grocery stores, five banks, two golf courses, several restaurants, ten churches, and are growing with new and remodeled businesses in both communities. The Adams County Speedway provides NASCAR dirt track racing, and outdoor recreation is also popular with Lake Icaria, Lake Binder, Viking Lake, and Hacklebarney providing fishing, hunting and camping opportunities. We are interested in applicants who share the goal of providing a safe educational environment where effective teaching and challenging curriculum encourage students to achieve and prosper.
Sylvia Enarson Elementary houses all of the PreK - 5th Grade students from the Villisca community.
Corning Elementary houses all of the PreK - 5th Grade students from the Corning community.
Southwest Valley Middle School is located in Villisca and houses all of the 6th - 8th Grade students from Corning and Villisca.
Southwest Valley High School is located in Corning and houses all of the 9th - 12th Grade students from Corning and Villisca.
