As a special education teacher in this role, you deliver individual and group instruction to students with moderate to severe special needs in a substantially separate classroom, and build strong relationships with students in order to push them to be their best selves both academically and personally. You design individualized curriculum, write education plans, collect and evaluate data. In this role, you also implement comprehensive behavior support plans, serve as the IEP team chair for a small caseload, and coordinate related services. You collaborate with others to ensure each student is receiving the support they need, including training to paraprofessionals and consulting regularly with specialists or personnel involved in a child's program
Hours for this role are 7:15 am - 4:20 pm daily.
Salaries are competitive with local districts, starting at $72k. Commensurate with experience. Moderate-severe special education teachers will also earn an additional $7,700 stipend for teaching a high-need area.
