PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aid the supervising teacher at all times and in all circumstances, including lifting of students, transporting students, changing diapers, toilet training, catheterization, tube feeding, and/or other health procedures.
- Assists in the implementation and instruction of reading and math interventions of small groups of students.
- Monitor and document student performance.
- Make accommodations/modifications for students under direction of supervising teacher(s) (regular or special).
- Perform all tasks assigned in order to support the teacher in providing instruction, including, but not limited to: record keeping and reports for students, preparation of class work, preparation and distribution of teaching materials and supplies, assistance in student discipline matters, assist in providing student feedback, assistance in student instruction, and assistance in watching and caring for students in all school settings.
- Assists in conducting activities and programs within the school. Work in assigned school/class each year. Class assignments may vary from year to year or during the school year, depending on student needs.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist with academic instruction under the direction of regular classroom teachers.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, books, materials, and facilities.
- Provide or supervise personal care, medical care, and feeding of students as stated in IEP, IAP, Healthcare Plan, etc.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board Policy.
- Adheres to a time and/or duty schedule authorized by the school principal.
- Assist in maintaining a neat classroom conducive to learning.
- Shadow and provide support to a specific child/children throughout the school day to achieve academic goals.
- Assumes responsibility for attending any administrative and/or professional meetings called by the principal or supervisor.
- Support all students in the inclusion setting as well as resource and self-contained classes.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters related the Allen Parish School Board.
- Maintain professional personal appearance and demonstrate respect for colleagues.
- Attend work regularly; report to work on time; and provide advance notice of need for absence.
- Gain approval from the principal for any time off of work. Out-of-state trip must be placed on the School Board agenda and approved by the Board.
- Check emails daily and reply to emails in a timely fashion.

- Keep abreast professionally by attending local, regional, state, or national meetings and/or staff development that address area(s) of responsibility as directed by the principal.
- Collaborate with district leadership, administrators and teachers to analyze data, establish goals and develop plans with action steps and a means to monitor effectiveness.
- Analyze data to make data-driven decisions
- Complete and submit all forms, reports, documentation, and training by required dates and in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- Remain open to suggestions and innovative ideas; receive and apply feedback.

- Follow the specific requirements established by the School Board (LEA), State Department of Education (SDE), the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (SBESE), and/or Federal regulations and guidelines established by each.
- Perform any duty, not specifically assigned, as deemed necessary by the assigning authority in order to maintain continuity where needed.
- Direct, coordinate, and/or supervise all students for whom you are responsible.
- Participate in parent conferences, as needed.
- Act as technical advisor and resource person to assist others in area(s) of responsibility.
