Assume responsibility for the operation of the Media Center in the absence of the Media Specialist.
Assist the Media Specialist in maintaining an orderly, neat, and attractive atmosphere in the Media Center.
Operate the Media Center electronic circulation system according to established procedures.
Assist students and staff in the location and utilization of Media Center equipment and materials.
Assist the Media Specialist in all phases of acquisition, processing, and circulation of media equipment.
Work in conjunction with the Media Specialist to provide instructions and guidance to volunteers and student workers.
Assist the Media Specialist in maintaining and repairing Media Center materials and equipment.
Assist with the creation of Media Center displays and special programs.
Maintain periodical collections such as magazines and newspapers.
Assist the Media Specialist with the yearly inventory of Media Center materials and equipment.
Operate the school's electronic distribution system and utilize the satellite reception equipment.
Assist Information Services with the deployment, collection, and inventory of school-based technology and equipment.
Serve as first point of contact for students, staff, and faculty seeking technology assistance.
Attend regularly scheduled Media Paraprofessional and technology-related meetings and trainings, as required.
Maintain the work hours set by the Principal and Media Specialist.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Para I - minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required. Para II - minimum of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college credit above the remedial level from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution with the grade of "C" or higher.
Must maintain a Georgia Paraprofessional License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.

Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
