PARAPROFESSIONAL - Middle/High School

VUMHS seeks a full-time paraprofessional for the Wellness and Learning Center (WLC). Staff will work to teach their students effective executive functioning skills such as communication skills, social skills, and academic skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with teachers and service providers to support students
• Encourages and supports appropriate social skills, interactions with peers, and conversation with partners and small groups as they relate to behavior
• Apply and implement techniques per Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) guidelines
• Communicate effectively
• Make sound judgments
• Quickly adapt to changing situations
• Facilitate social and inclusive interactions among the student and their peers
• Support assigned students with their classroom work in a separate learning environment on a temporary basis as needed or requested
• Other related duties as assigned
