Paraprofessionals and Behavior Specialists Extended School Year  (ESY) Program Salem Public Schools Special Education INTERNAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED

Program Days Hours 

Preschool Witchcraft Monday -Thursday 8:15-12:30 

Elementary Witchcraft  Monday – Thursday 7:45-12:30 

Grades 6-12 Witchcraft Monday – Thursday 8:45-1:30 

Salem Prep: Dates, location, and times TBD

 

POSITIONS: 

Intensive Paraprofessional: The paraprofessional is responsible for assisting the

classroom teacher with the delivery of curriculum and implementing the students’ IEPs. The

paraprofessional assists with behavior management, general supervision and supports students’

social-emotional interactions throughout the school day. Additional relevant duties at the

discretion of the site administrator. Some students require 1:1 paraprofessional support per their

IEP. Paraprofessionals are paid at the Intensive Paraprofessional contract rate.

 

Behavior Specialists: The Behavior Specialist provides behavioral support to the program as a whole and works collaboratively with staff to ensure student safety across the school environment. Additional relevant duties at the discretion of the site administrator. The specialist is paid at the behavior specialist’s rate. 

 

Intensive Paraprofessional (up to 2): Please see above position description. This position will

be at the Elementary ESY site and/or the Summer Academy site 7:45-4pm Monday-Friday. This

position requires transportation to travel between the two sites.
