Assignment Information

Assignment Functions and Responsibilities

The job is not limited to any or all of the following functions and responsibilities:

  • 1:1 Student Support
  • Access to Support
  • Lunch Supervision
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
  • Must be Highly Qualified
    • Completed at least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits -or-
    • Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or-
    • ParaPro Assessment - Qualifying score of 460+
      • The ETS ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test used to assess the skills and knowledge of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals in areas like reading, writing, and math, according to ETS. It's designed to determine if individuals possess the necessary abilities to effectively assist teachers in classroom instruction.

  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Dependable Attendance
  • Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
  • Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
  • Basic understanding of technology
  • Ability to assist with personal care needs
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
  • Some lifting may be required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
