Prek-12 Special Education opportunities within Haywood County Schools. Special Education Teachers provide individualized instruction, support, and services to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
  • Adapt and modify general education curriculum to accommodate students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction in small group and one-on-one settings.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies and support students’ social-emotional growth.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Required: bachelor’s degree
  • Certification: Valid Tennessee teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Preferred: Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
