The Scituate School Department is seeking a dynamic Pre-School special education teacher for Clayville Elementary School. The candidate MUST hold a PRE-SCHOOL CERTIFICATE and a SPECIAL EDUCATION CERTIFICATE.

Certification: Certified by Department of Education as Early Childhood Education Teacher (PK-2) and Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (Birth-2)

Experience: Minimum of two years working in a preschool setting preferred

Responsibilities:
•Plan, supervise, and implement the educational program in accordance with the policies, procedures, and philosophy of Scituate School Department, DCYF, RIDE, DHS, and BrightStars
•Assist in adoption and revision to the curriculum that is aligned to the RIELDS
•Collaborate with the IEP Team to ensure differentiation, IEP compliance, and inclusive practices to support learning for all.
•Teach all children, including students with disabilities, using developmentally appropriate curriculum and positive behavior intervention. This must follow the guidelines and regulations set forth by Scituate School Department, RIDE, DCYF, and BrightStars, in conjunction with the IEP, where applicable
•Must be willing to work to meet the guidelines set forth by the BrightStars framework, and work to achieve a higher star rating.
•Ensure that all children, parents, and staff are treated with respect. Preschool teachers should demonstrate professionalism that is respectful toward each family's beliefs and culture.
•Responsible for maintaining a 21st century learning environment
•Conduct required evaluation and assessment of children in a timely and periodic manner to assess the developmental levels of the enrolled students
•Assist the principal in scheduling the paraprofessionals to meet the needs of all students.
•Establish, maintain, and encourage ongoing family involvement and open communication.
•Perform all other duties as assigned.
