POSITION: Recess and Lunchroom Paraprofessional
SCHEDULE: 2.5 hrs/day Monday through Friday
LOCATION: Kenowa Hills/Zinser Elementary
Experience working with Pre-K–12 students is preferred.
Ability to supervise and engage with students during recess and lunch periods.
Demonstrated ability to:
Delegate responsibilities appropriately.
Assist with minor first aid needs.
Respond to both minor and major student behaviors, including de-escalation when necessary.
Monitor and document student behavior and incidents as needed.
Ability to use age-appropriate language and tone, including with students with special needs.
Establish and maintain consistent daily routines, adapting to student needs when appropriate.
Willingness to support classroom instruction or other student needs when lunch/recess duties allow.
Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Ability to function as a collaborative, dependable member of the school team.
Must be able to follow directions, complete tasks with minimal supervision, and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to process basic paperwork and complete assigned documentation accurately.
Regular, reliable attendance is required.
Physical ability to be outdoors, move around playgrounds, respond quickly to student needs, and remain alert.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Though it is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements of all Parapro positions, the general content of and requirements for the performance of a Paraprofessional are noted below:
• Must be able to bend, squat, and sit on the floor in working with students. Must be able to stand for long periods. The ability to lift students if needed in special needs assignments.
• Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is generally moderate, but can be high at times and temperatures are varied.
