SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

 

Additional Information: 
This is a full-time position. The person in this role will be the 0.5 Resource Room teacher at Rock Creek and the 0.5 Resource Room teacher at Springville. This person will work closely with the full time Resource Teacher at both schools. The weekly schedule for this position will be determined once building schedules have been created and we can talk with the Special Education Teams at each site. 

Rock Creek is located at 4125 NW 185th Ave, Portland, OR 97229
Springville is located at 6655 NW Joss Ave, Portland, OR 97229
The two schools are about 2.5 miles apart.

Preferred Qualifications
As a member of the Special Education Teams at Rock Creek and Springville, this position requires a strong partnership between the other Resource Room teacher, the Speech and Language Pathologist and the School Psychologist at each school. Together the Special Education team works closely with the counseling team, the administrative team and the Academic Support team to create pathways to success for all students requiring more academic support. We are looking for candidates with Resource Room experience as well as a strong understanding of IDEA, IEP and the associated paperwork. Purpose:
The Special Education Teacher plans and implements an instructional program that fosters learning and growth for students with disabilities. The Special Education teacher creates a supportive learning environment that enables acquisition of skills and knowledge, and guides students toward reaching their academic, social, intellectual and physical potential.

Salary

$60,793 - $121,804 annually based on 194 day contract (2026-27 salary schedule, not including intern rate)
