Position Title
Resource Special Education Teacher JJHS/JMS
Primary Purpose
Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services in a resource setting and provide in class support services. Develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, collaborate with staff and parents, maintain compliance documentation, and support student access to the curriculum in accordance with Texas special education requirements.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Valid Texas special education certification required
- Appropriate grade-level and content requirements as applicable for assignment under Texas rules
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide direct instruction to students receiving special education services in the resource setting
-Provide direct instruction to students receiving in class support services
- Implement IEPs, accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports as required
- Develop lesson plans aligned to student needs and curriculum standards
- Monitor student progress reports and maintain accurate instructional and compliance documentation
- Participate in ARD meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service staff
