Overview
Growing Charter School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting individuals and families in need, particularly within educational settings. This role involves working closely with students, educators, and families to provide guidance, support, and resources that promote mental health and well-being.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and support to students facing various challenges, including emotional, behavioral, and academic issues.
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Educate students and families about available resources and services within the community.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies for students in distress or facing emergencies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to create a supportive environment for all students.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of students within the educational system.
  • Facilitate workshops on topics such as mental health awareness, cultural diversity, and crisis management.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in social work.

Skills

  • Experience working with students in an educational setting is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies.
  • Ability to provide cultural diversity counseling that respects the backgrounds of all individuals.
  • Familiarity with childcare practices and child protective services is advantageous.
  • Expertise in behavioral health principles and special education processes is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when documenting cases and interventions.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others navigate their challenges.
