SECONDARY RESOURCE ROOM TEACHER

2 full-time positions available

 1.0 FTE

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must hold valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in area of responsibility, EX endorsement preferred.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

 

SALARY:     

Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement

 

QUALIFICATIONS:           

  • Valid Michigan Teaching certificate in area of Special Education
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or endorsement in mathematics (EX), preferred
  • Physical and mental ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:           Building Principal and Secondary Special Education Administrator

 

JOB GOAL: 

To devise and implement individualized programs for students who have special needs which prevent them from learning through traditional means.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides direct instruction to students in resource learning environment or team-teaching with general education teachers. Facilitates case management services to students eligible for special education. 
  1. Evaluates the progress of students eligible for special education. 
  1. Communicates with parents regarding questions and concerns they may have relating to the students’ programs and services. 
  1. Collaborates with General Education teachers to ensure appropriate instruction and supports for students eligible for special education. 
  1. Develops and implements IEPs and related documents for assigned students. 
  1. Performs other duties as requested by the Special Education Administrator or Building Principal.
