Village Green Charter School (VGCS) is seeking a passionate and student-centered Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. VGCS is an ideal environment for educators who value personalized learning, strong student relationships, and small-group instruction.

As a Special Education Teacher at VGCS, you will provide students with rigorous and differentiated instruction tailored to their individual learning needs and styles. Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, you will work collaboratively with teachers, families, and support staff to monitor student progress, implement accommodations and modifications, and adjust programming to ensure academic growth and success.

With all class sizes capped at a maximum of 16 students, teachers are able to provide targeted support through individualized instruction, co-teaching, and small pullout groups. Our Downtown Providence location also allows students and staff to take advantage of experiential and project-based learning opportunities throughout the city. VGCS serves students from across the state through the EnrollRI lottery system.

Established in 2013, VGCS was the first school in Rhode Island intentionally designed as a personalized blended learning model. Students and teachers have endless opportunities to be creative and innovative in the development of new skills and learning experiences.

VGCS proudly maintains a 100% graduation rate and a 98% college acceptance rate. Through our highly successful dual enrollment program, students graduate having already earned 6–9 college credits.

At the heart of our school is our mission:

“At Village Green Charter School, we believe that education is the key to unlocking a world of opportunity and to empower our students to pursue their dreams, contribute to their communities, and make a positive impact on the world through real world experiences that incorporate innovative technology, a dual enrollment college experience, and internships with local businesses and community leaders that allow the free expression of creativity and personalized learning.”

VGCS values inclusive instructional practices, collaboration, differentiation, and data-driven instruction that supports all learners in reaching their full potential.
