Sharon High School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year for a grades 9-12, full inclusion specialized program.

 

The RISE program is a full inclusion program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD), Social Communication Disorders, and/or related disabilities.  RISE Program Description

 

Behavioral and social support is provided in order allow students to make effective academic and social/emotional progress. Our students may experience a range of school adjustment difficulties, inappropriate social functioning, poor academic performance, developmental delays, and/or immature peer relations. 

 

The Special Education Teacher's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Direct Instruction to students in accordance to IEP goals
  • Consultation with general education teachers, related service providers, parents
  • Provide modifications and accommodations for students in the program
  • IEP case management for students in the RISE program
  • IEP development and quarterly progress reports
  • Evaluations and written reports of findings
  • Oversight and management of Instructional Assistants supporting the RISE program

This position offers the opportunity for Extended School Year (ESY) employment

 

The successful candidate will have experience with students who have ASD, possess strong oral and written language skills, collaborative, flexible, and able to work with a team of educators. Preference given to candidates with experience or knowledge of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis as well as the highschool curriculum. Preference given to candidates with DESE ELA Certification. 



Requirements: DESE Licensure in Moderate Special Needs; 5-12. 

 

This is a full-time teaching position in accordance with the Sharon Public Schools Calendar.

Salary commensurate with experience, in accordance with the Sharon Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
