Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
This position works approximately 3.5 to 4.0 hours per day in a split shift, based on the length of the assigned bus route.
Duties may include but may not be limited to the following: Riding the Special Needs Bus in order to provide assitance to students and driver. Other Assigned duties deemed necessary by Transportation Supervisor and/or Special Education/LEA Supervisor.
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: appropriate verbal & written language skills, ability to follow verbal & written instructions, good interpersonal skills.
KNOWLEDGE is required to read and follow instructions, and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job.
ABILITY is required to use basic job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Some problem-solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. individually or assist in lifting up to 50 lbs. or more; and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
