POSITION: Special Education Coordinator - High School Part time/ 3 days per week
SUPERVISOR: Director of Student Services
POSITION GOAL:
Liaison between the district and out-of-district high schools utilized by district students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
Certification: NH Department of Education Special Education certification required; special education administration preferred, but not required
Experience: Three years prior case management experience preferred
Criminal Record Check: Required per NH RSA 189:13-a
Pre-Employment Medical Exam: Required per NH RSA 200:36 and 275:3
EVALUATION:
Performance of position responsibilities will be evaluated annually in accordance with the approved administrative procedure for staff evaluation.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordination of the transition of 8th grade students to high school(s) including meeting with students, parents, and high school representatives.
2. Oversee the development and implementation of student IEP and 504 plans.
3. Oversee all special education/504 procedures and paperwork per state and federal law(s)
4. Maintain professional relationships with high school guidance counselors, case managers, administrators, and faculty regarding student progress, scheduling, discipline, and program development.
5. Work with private agencies in the development of post-secondary transition services.
6. Facilitate all new special education referrals and triannual evaluations for students in grades 9-12.
7. Represent the school district as the LEA in all meetings.
8. Represent the school district in juvenile court proceedings and therapeutic placements.
