Summary
Per LSFT MOU, for the 2026-2027 school year only, the District will assign an LSFT bargaining unit member to perform additional duties as a Special Education Coordinator exclusively at the Lake Shore Early Childhood Center (ECC). This is an additional assignment to the employee's regular contractual position and does not create a separate bargaining unit classification or administrative position.
Responsibilities
The Special Education Coordinator will provide support for special education programs and services at the ECC, including but not limited to:
· Monitoring special education compliance requirements and timelines for students and programs at the ECC;
· Reviewing IEP and evaluation documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance;
· Supporting ECC case managers and other staff regarding special education procedures and documentation;
· Serving as the District/LEA representative at ECC IEP and eligibility meetings when designated by the District; and
· Performing other related special education coordination duties associated with the ECC as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education.
Requirements
· Current member of the LSFT bargaining unit.
· Knowledge of special education compliance requirements, IEP processes, and evaluation documentation standards.
· Ability to work collaboratively with ECC case managers and staff.
Compensation
The employee selected for this assignment will receive an additional stipend equal to 8.00% of the employee's annual base salary for the 2026-2027 school year. The stipend is in addition to the employee's regular contractual salary and will not alter the employee's placement on the applicable salary schedule. "Base salary" means the employee's annual salary as determined by the applicable salary schedule and excludes longevity, other stipends, extracurricular compensation, overload compensation, and any other additional compensation.
Duration
This assignment is limited exclusively to services provided at or on behalf of the Early Childhood Center and will automatically expire at the conclusion of the 2026-2027 school year unless the parties mutually agree in writing to extend or modify the arrangement. Establishment of this assignment and payment of the stipend for the 2026-2027 school year does not establish a precedent, past practice, or continuing obligation beyond the 2026-2027 school year.
Selection
This opportunity is posted and made available to members of the LSFT bargaining unit. The District has sole discretion to select the individual it determines to be best qualified for the assignment from among the bargaining unit members who apply.
