QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Louisiana certification in a field of Special Education
2. Five years of successful teaching experience in Special Education

3. Evidence of experience in a leadership role at the school level in Special Education


REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education


JOB GOAL: To ensure federal and state laws and district special education policies and procedures are adhered to during IEP development and implementation in special education classrooms throughout Rapides Parish.


TERM: Ten Months


SALARY: Ten Month Teacher Salary


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


I. Ensure IEP compliance with all federal, state, and district mandated policies and procedures.
II. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with district special education teachers to provide information, support, and training in all areas related to IEP policies, procedures, and implementation.
III. Compile and maintain all reports, records and other documents required by law and/or the Special Education Director.
IV. Serve as liaison for information between JBL and special education teachers.
V. Stay current with updates to federal and state SpEd laws and district policy, interpret those updates for teachers, and ensure implementation across the district.
VI. To follow and monitor adherence to state and local school board policies
VII. To work effectively with school personnel and staff
VIII. To consistently demonstrate self-direction
IX. To submit accurate records and reports promptly
X. To exhibit professional ethics
