Special Education Paraprofessional (1.0 FTE)

POSITION TITLE:         Special Education Paraprofessional

QUALIFICATIONS:       ISBE Paraprofessional License

                                    Experience working with special education students preferred

                                    Flexible

                                    Team-oriented

                                    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

REPORTS TO:              Classroom Teacher, Principal and/or other Supervisor

DATE AVAILABLE:  11/03/2025

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for implementing classroom activities and instructional programs related to the student's Individual Educational Plan as directed by the classroom teacher and special education teacher
2. Provide individual and small-group assistance to reinforce learning and encourage positive behaviors.
3. Help students develop social and emotional skills, using positive strategies.
4. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, and at lunch (if needed).
5. Prepare materials, organize learning spaces, and help keep the classroom running smoothly.
6. Observe and record student progress, sharing feedback with teachers. 
7. Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all students.
