- No less than $19.70 per hour based on verifiable similar experience per the negotiated PASS Agreement

Hours:
- Full Time: 7 hours per day, 9 months

Job Summary:
Special Education Paraprofessionals play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of our students as directed by Special Education Teachers. The Special Education Paraprofessional is responsible for providing services and supports to the instructional program with specific responsibility for: - Assisting the Teacher in a variety of instructional tasks within a self contained setting and a general educational setting.
- Providing support to students with disabilities within the classroom and around the educational building.
- Assisting students with communication, scheduling, problem solving and modifications of curriculum;
- May work with students who require toileting assistance.
- Adapting classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives
- Implementing behavioral plans designed by the IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
Description:
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Assists and monitors students across school settings (lunch, recess, specials, restroom, etc).
- Work with special needs students.
- Ability to monitor student behavior.
- Monitor and support transportation needs.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Open to feedback and learning behavior techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the educational environment.
- Ability to work with a wide range of staff and students in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
- One of the following State of Illinois Licenses registered in Will County: Paraprofessional (ELS(PARA)), Substitute (SUB), or Professional Educator License (PEL)
- College transcripts with 60+ credit hours or have passed the WorkKeys Assessment
