Position Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Franklin Middle School
Salary Range: Base + Local Stipend
Length of Work Year: 10 months
Position Starts: August 2026

Position Summary;

Teacher will work closely with the teachers and staff to implement the
TEKS and other programs according to state, local and federal guidelines and
procedures.

Position Requirements
Education/Certification/License: Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification
Experience: Special education teaching experience preferred / not required / Proficient with
technology (computer, projector, document camera, software and other related programs).

Duties/Responsibilities

• Establish appropriate student relationships that foster student growth and success.
• Provide instructional assistance in an inclusion setting with needed interventions, accommodations and/or modifications in order to successfully access the general education curriculum.
• Confer with parents, teachers, administrators, testing specialists, and professionals to develop individual educational plans designed to promote students' educational,physical, and social development.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
• Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
