Special Education Teacher

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. This full-time position involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing specialized teaching strategies, and collaborating with families and support staff to ensure each student's success.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Assess and evaluate students' progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters learning and encourages student participation.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to education.
- Utilize various teaching techniques and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Provide support and guidance to students in social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP documentation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in special education.
- Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid teaching certification
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators, parents, and specialists.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive teaching methods is a plus.
