The Bethany Public School District has a SY 2026-2027 opening for a Special Education Teacher.

Salary:  $52,693 to $93,466 per Bethany Education Association contract.

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Certification in Special Education is required.
• 1 to 3 years of Elementary Special Education teaching experience is preferred.
• Physical Management Training (PMT) certification or willingness to be trained and certified is required.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
• Experience with developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based teaching and learning is preferred.
• Experience with the Data Team Process is preferred.
• Experience with Scientific Research-Based Intervention (SRBI) is preferred.
• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must possess good judgment in the supervision of, management of, and communication with students.

The Bethany Community School is an elementary school (PK to 6) located in central Bethany on an extensive rural campus. The school offers a supportive leadership team and staff and extensive instructional resources.
