The Roderick Elementary School is seeking a special education teacher who can facilitate the academic and social/emotional needs of students in grades 4-6 who have specific learning disabilities within a partial inclusion program model.
Specific responsibilities include:
Conducting formal evaluations, ongoing assessments, and progress monitoring of students
Development of comprehensive evaluation reports and IEPs within mandated timelines
Implementation of specially designed instruction in the areas of ELA and Math that meet the individual needs of the students, and aligns to grade level standards
Collaboration with classroom teachers to support students’ inclusion within general education
Maintaining consistent communication with students’ families.
Working collaboratively and effectively planning for paraprofessionals who will assist in supporting the students within both the general and special education classrooms
Provide Daily SEL Instruction: Teach social-emotional skills through daily lessons and targeted small group support.
Conduct Daily Student Check-Ins: Facilitate morning, midday, and end-of-day check-ins based on student needs.
