The Joseph Osgood School is seeking a .5 FTE Special Education Teacher supporting kindergarten students for the 2026-27 School Year.
The teacher will provide direct service to kindergarten students who have been identified with a special education-related disability.
Services will be provided in accordance with Massachusetts state laws and regulations. There are a variety of Specialists who support the classrooms and provide services that promote learning and development, such as:
•Speech and Language Pathologist
•Occupational Therapist
•Physical Therapist
•Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1.Responsible for the delivery of educational services to children with special needs in accordance with the requirements of state law including but not limited to:
•Screening and identifying children who may have special needs.
•Coordinating special education evaluation procedures in conjunction with the Team Chairperson.
•Developing and writing Educational Plans in conjunction with parents and other professionals.
•Attending and chairing annual review special education TEAM meetings.
•Delivering instructional services both in a small group setting and/or the classroom in accordance with the students Individual Education Plan.
2.Adapts, and modifies curriculum for special needs students that correlate with regular education peers.
3.Consults and collaborates with parents and other professionals on behalf of special needs students and typical learners.
4.Experience in training teaching assistants in early childhood classroom strategies.
5.Participates in system-wide professional development and training.
6.Such other responsibilities as may be assigned by Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
